If you’re modding your vehicle on a dime, you want to improve your driving experience for less. We get you. And that’s why we’ve put together this list of the best upgrades that won’t break the bank…
…each one costs less than $100!Performance Headlights
You’ll really feel the difference with a good set of high-end bulbs! Yes – their prices is almost double that of a cheaper set. But it’s worth it.
City driving may not have high demands on your headlights. But the improved visibility will pay off on your next road trip. Don’t rely on street lights. Rely on your own vehicle.
Windshield Wipers
A great set of windshield wipers will transform your drives… for you, and your passengers. High quality wipers can be used year round. They are durable, and can even handle snow and ice!
And wouldn’t you like that in our cold Canadian winter mornings? It will take you less than a minute to install a new set.
Made of silicone rubber to ensure greater visibility by coating the windshield with silicone to promote continuous water beading in inclement weather.
Created with PIAA’s patented silicone technology which reduces surface tension, causing water to repel from the windshield for streak free and quiet operation.
Frameless design that creates more pressure points across the entire length of the blade for streak-free wiping and greatly reduced ice and snow build-up.
Tire Pressure Gauges
You should always have a tire pressure gauge handy. Why? Your vehicle’s tire pressure monitoring system is not as reliable as you think. And by monitoring and correcting your tire pressure regularly, you’re giving your tires a longer life.
And you’re improving your fuel economy. And you’re getting better handling characteristics. And you’re enjoying a smoother ride.
Stainless Steel Brake Lines
Switching from rubber brake lines to stainless steel brake lines will give you a noticeable change when braking. And that’s because rubber will deflect when you step on the brakes hard, and your braking will feel mushy.
On the other hand, stainless steel is stiffer and will keep its shape. So when you step on the brakes hard, the hoses will be able to transfer the hydraulic fluid pressure to the cylinders freely. Stainless steel is also more durable than rubber. You can be sure your brakes won’t break.
Ceramic Brake PadsCeramic brake pads come with an infinite number of advantages. Most notably, they’re able to withstand higher temps with less brake fade when braking. These pads produce less brake dust. This means less wear on your pads and rotors.
Finally, you’ll enjoy a quieter ride as ceramic brake pads produce less noise compared to conventional brakes. Your brakes won’t lose their stopping power – even if you don’t stop stepping on them.
Short-Throw Shifters
You probably waste several seconds every time you shift gears. This is due to the length of travel it takes the gear lever to actually change the gear. If you shorten that length with a short-throw shifter, you’re also shortening the travel of your hand as well as the time spent off the power.
And you’ll certainly be happy with a reduced commute… or even lap time?
Synthetic Oil
We’ve all heard of the advantages of synthetic oil: improved viscosity, no oxidation, no sludge, and a longer life for your engine. But is it all it’s hyped out to be? Yes.
Synthetic oil’s properties are better than those of conventional mineral oil. And at a slightly higher price, it’s worth the investment. Please note that synthetics oils are not recommended for use on performance vehicles with a rotary engine.
